You are invited to an authentic Anishinaabe (Indigenous) experience from a member of Lake Helen First Nation, part of the 1850 Robinson-Superior Treaty area. Cindy Crowe is Standing Strong of the Caribou Clan, Anishinaabe Nation, Lodgekeeper & Sole Proprietor of Niibing Tribal Tours. Cindy is offering this opportunity to experience your personal gateway to her sacred land, as well as to be introduced to Anishinaabe culture & practices in a safe & welcoming environment.

 

Cindy’s paternal ancestry is Anishinaabe from north of Lake Superior & Cree/French from northern Manitoba & her maternal ancestry is from England through her great-grandmother. Her ancestors have been greeting guests on Gichigami (Lake Superior) for thousands of years. She embodies that connection & history when she is greeting guests. It is important to her & to her role of Lodgekeeper to be welcoming & accommodating. Each guest is treated with individual attention and care. She is an intricate gem of Anishinaabe experiences in northwestern Ontario. People come from around the world to travel to her retreats. Cindy is a grandmother, Public Speaker, Educator and Elder. Cindy is in relationship with this land that loves her, protects her, sustains her, entertains her, teaches her & so much more.

 

Cindy was presented the Lodgekeeper role through ceremony & gifted with the Spiritual guidance to inspire all people, Indigenous and non-Indigenous. She is very passionate about sharing the concepts of 'All My Relations' and our interconnectedness with the animals, trees, plants, mountains, water and all the other beings of Mother Earth. It is her life’s work.
